Gingerbread Bars – 24 Days of Cookies
So I walked in the house this evening knowing I needed to write this post. I was tired and I had a long day. As I entered a dark kitchen, I can hear glass crunching under my feet, never a good sign. I flipped the light on and surveyed the crime scene. The cats apparently had decided to try their hand (or paws) at baking. My much beloved two-quart glass mixing bowl lay in a thousand pieces on the floor along with pan containing these gingerbread bars.
I got all the glass cleaned up and trudge upstairs only to be confronted with a pile of chewed up spatulas on the landing. There are several cats and a dog available to a good home if anyone is interested.
So I managed to rescue some of the bars to get pictures for this post. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend actually eating them since I had to brush off the glass shards. And yes, they are supposed to be iced but I draw the line at making a batch of icing for three bars I can’t even eat. They look very pretty with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. You would hardly know they hit the floor.
