Champagne Day – New Year’s Eve
What do you do with your leftover champagne? This post was my mother’s suggestion. The concept of leftover champagne is foreign to me but I understand it does happen.
There are plenty of delicious recipes to make use of your leftover bubbly. These Leftover Champagne Pancakes would be perfect for New Year’s Day brunch. You can also add a splash to your french toast batter or replace some of the water in your waffle batter. If you are ambitious, I love the mix of flavors in these Champagne Pear Crepes
Champagne Chicken is simple to make and this version looks delicious. I love risotto and replacing the wine with champagne would work well. Using leftover champagne instead of white wine in most recipes will work as long as your champagne is not pink or overly sweet.
Then there is always dessert. These deliciously moist looking Champagne Cupcakes would be a perfect New Year’s Day dessert. If you want to be decadant, try these Dark Chocolate Champagne Truffles.
And finally, you can transfer your leftover champagne into a glass jar and cover with cheesecloth. Let it sit for a few weeks and it will turn into champagne vinegar. You can use the champagne vinegar to make a delicious champagne vinaigrette dressing for salads.
